Christine Doelling, a rising 2L, is immersed in the music industry, where she aspires to work. She has created and led multi-channel marketing initiatives for world-renowned artists, musicians, museums and media companies. Doelling founded Lunchbox Theory, a music promotion company in Washington, D.C., and has served as a music promotion consultant for National Geographic Live.

During his undergraduate career, Aaron Horth spearheaded the IncludeME MU campaign to add gender identity and expression to the protected categories in the university’s non-discrimination policy. After graduating, he worked as a Residential Victims’ advocate at a shelter for those subjected to domestic violence.
Lawdragon: What were key factors you used to choose your law school?
Aaron Horth: Because most of the schools I got into were roughly the same in rankings, I looked mostly at geographic location. I chose Boston because I wanted to live in a larger city and a place that I knew would be progressive and queer-friendly.
Christopher Pietruszkiewicz, the dean of Stetson University College of Law, has spent much of his career at the intersection of education, business and law. He came to Stetson from LSU Law Center at Louisiana State University, where he was the J.Y. Sanders Professor of Law and where, as Vice Chancellor for Business and Financial Affairs, he was responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, financial planning and personnel matters. Before that he was a trial lawyer in the U.S. Justice Department’s Tax Division and an attorney-adviser in the U.S. Education Department.
A veterans spending package that the U.S. Senate will consider after its return from a weeklong Memorial Day recess includes $159 billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve its health-care services as well as a suggestion: Take advantage of help from law school clinics to curb a backlog of disability claims.
The proposal is backed by two Virginia senators who cite the Puller Veterans Benefits Clinic at the state’s William & Mary Law School as an example. It comes amid a firestorm of criticism over lengthy wait times at Veterans Affairs hospitals and a backlog that comprises more than 51 percent of outstanding disability claims from military service personnel.

On a Northeastern law school co-op program in Bucharest, Romania last August, Adam Cernea Clark arrived just as thousands of protesters took to the street. The government was about to approve a private sector gold mining project that many Romanians feared would release cyanide into the environment. Cernea Clark, who studies environmental law and international development as part of Northeastern’s dual-degree program with Vermont Law School, said he felt compelled to get involved.
